JESUS BIRTH – Matthew 2: 10-11
Joy is a fruit of the Spirit, available to all believers as they abide in Christ. God gives us joy and peace. Real joy comes from God and is ours forever. Rejoice always, pray continually, give thanks in all circumstances; for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus.
This month, under the theme of the fruit of the spirit, our focus is on Joy. Our goal is to grasp that authentic joy stems from the divine and is enduringly ours. During a recent session, children were captivated by an object lesson that illuminated the disparity between fleeting worldly happiness, dependent on favorable circumstances, and the enduring joy bestowed by God, which persists even in the face of adversity.
The wise men exemplified this profound joy upon encountering the birth of Jesus, their elation reignited upon rediscovering the guiding Star.
Today, we are assured of the same joy through Jesus, regardless of our circumstances, leading us towards the eternal promise of life everlasting.
Children now understand that Jesus alone is the wellspring of our joy, while worldly pleasures fall short of true satisfaction.
